Booking Terms and Conditions

Galicia Holiday acts as a legal and authorized Booking agent for the owners of the properties featured in our website and as such your rental contract is with the relevant property owner.

The payment of the deposit implies acceptance of the terms and conditions for the property.

Your Booking is subject to the following terms and conditions as agreed to at the time of booking with Galicia Holiday.
A contract between you and the property owner will come into existence when we receive payment and accept your booking by issuing a confirmation of booking for the holiday dates shown in the rental agreement.

The Booking Deposit payable at the time of booking is non-refundable. Bookings made less than 4 weeks before your arrival date must be accompanied by the full amount of the holiday charge and the refundable damage deposit if requested.
The Balance must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the commencement of your holiday or upon arrival at the property (as specified in the booking confirmation).
If the balance is not received by the due date then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation and the client will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent.

Cancellations must be immediately notified in writing.

  • The Cancellations made between the days 15 and 30 before arrival, will be penalized with the 50% of the total amount of the Booking.
  • The Cancellations made between the days 1 and 14 before arrival, will be penalized with the 100% or the total amount of the Booking.
  • * Depending on the case, part of the amount of the Cancellations could be replaced by a Voucher to be used in the future. This happens usually when a client needs to cancel in case of force majeure.

Your booking will not be cancelled by the owner except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.

Arrival and Departure times
Please be aware of the arrival and departure times that apply to your villa. Generally, the arrival time is between 16.00 h and 17.00 h and the departure time is between 10.00 h and 12.00 h.

Advise the owner of your arrival time
The owner /house keeper will be waiting at the villa to welcome you at the specified time in the booking form. If you are arriving at different time, it is important that you contact the owner to advice your arrival time in advance.

If you are arriving late at night, the owner may not be able to welcome you and so you might need to collect the keys somewhere to be able to enter the villa. If you are departing very early in the morning you will need to advise the owner the day before to organize with you the inspection, returning the breakage deposit if applicable or collect the keys.

Accommodation equipment
All properties are let fully furnished and equipped, including crockery, cutlery, bed and bath linen sufficient for the number of people indicated in the Booking Form. Fresh linen and towels are provided weekly in most villas.

Property Inspection
On arrival guests should inspect the property with the owner/caretaker and ensure that they understand the use of any appliances, equipment and utilities. Please read the House Notes & Rules carefully before using appliances as frequently appliances are different from those you may be used to at home.

On the day of departure the owner will usually arrive at the property at an agreed time in order to inspect the property if there are any damage or charges due.

Damage to property
Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them.
In the event that you notice damage in your accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there have been any breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could replace them or advise us before you leave.
The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday & you may be charged for any loss or damage found.
For security please lock the doors and close the windows when they leave your property unoccupied.

The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
Please note that in the event that any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you.
The client may in no circumstance re-let or sublet the property, even free of charge.

Tidiness and Cleanliness
The property will be assigned clean and in good order and should be left upon departure in the same condition. While guests are not expected to scrub floors, a general sweep and tidy-up is expected.

You can request a cleaner if you wish at an extra charge.

Swimming Pool
Most swimming pools are not heated and most are open from mid May until mid September, depending upon the weather and the owner’s discretion. Use of the Swimming Pool is strictly at the clients’ own risk and children must be supervised at all times.

We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others.

Breakdown of equipment
In the event of breakdown of mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers, swimming pool equipment etc, please contact the property owner and inform him of the problem. Should the property owner be unable to be contacted, then you should contact Galicia Holiday to inform us of the problem. We shall try to get the fault corrected as soon as possible, but you are asked to bear in mind that it may take some time particularly if it occurs on a Sunday or public holiday. Whilst we will endeavor to assist if the property owner is not available, Galicia Holiday cannot be held responsible for such breakdowns as it acts only as agent for the property owner.

Pets
No pets are allowed without the express permission of the owner of the property concerned.

Insurance
We highly recommend that you take out Travel Insurance. For non-European citizens we highly recommend that you obtain coverage for medical and personal liability, as well as loss of luggage, monies and repatriation.

Complaints
Any problem or complaint which the client may have concerning their holiday must be immediately reported directly to us/our representatives and we will endeavour to put matters right.
Any complaints not reported to us/the property manager at the time and only reported after the client has returned from holiday will not be considered by the proprietor.
If there are any problems, it is the client’s responsibility to notify the owner of the property as soon as possible, and during your stay at the villa, so that the owner take the action required.

Galicia Holiday acts as the booking agent and therefore will not be responsible for the problems that may occur in the villa. The owners must have an opportunity to put right any issues as soon as they arise. Should the owner not be available, please contact Galicia Holiday and we will contact the owner on your behalf.

Noise
Almost all our properties are in quiet, peaceful country situations. However, in the country you are likely to hear dogs barking, birds, sheep, bells, poultry, tractors, fireworks, etc. all making sounds which are different from those in the city and which may disturb unaccustomed ears. We suggest that you take earplugs if you feel that these country sounds may disturb your sleep. Villages regularly hold festivals during the summer, which can be very noisy until late at night. The best way to support this is to join in and enjoy the feasts. Galicia Holiday accepts no liability for noise or disturbance experienced whilst at the property.

Access Roads
Isolated country properties are often reached by rough and bumpy roads. If you intend driving your low slung or sports car to the rental property, please ask about the access roads to your chosen property.

Liability
Given that Galicia Holiday acts only as agents for the property owners, we can accept no liability whatsoever for any death, personal injury, loss or damage of any kind. We will always act in good faith and mediate between both parties if necessary.

Acceptance of Booking Conditions
Galicia Holiday acts as the booking agent for the named owners of the properties featured in our website and as such your rental contract is with the relevant property owner. The contract between you and the property owner comes into existence when the booking confirmation is dispatched by Galicia Holiday and is subject to these booking conditions. The payment of the deposit implies acceptance of the terms and conditions for the property.

The contract binds you & all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms & conditions of booking.

Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.
We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.

We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own house.
